While I am going to be learning Latin in 11th grade (I can't take French III or IV because I only took one year of French in 7th grade, and there's no way I'm going to continue with Spanish), I still want to learn Japanese. Ergo, it is my plan to try and self-teach myself the language.

...Which'll likely result in failure, considering my somewhat lazy demeanor and the fact that I'm not the best at memorizing symbols. Links to useful sites or books would be helpful, definitely.

D: It's alright.

I'm thinking about self-teaching myself either Portuguese and/or Italian. ;3; I know it's better to learn with others, but I know of no one who knows either language.

And I tried teaching myself Japanese, but failed. ;A; so I can't really help.

I tried self-teaching myself Italian at some point too |D My English/History teacher knew Italian (pfffft, he recently got a citizenship certificate signifying that he's a citizen of Italy), but he wasn't much help.

I know people online who are learning Japanese, but I don't want to bug them too much regarding the language. It's definitely a lot easier when learning in a group |D

Ah, I only really want to learn those languages because they are not so different from Spanish, which I know.

Ah, maybe you can find someone offline who can work with you, like a tutor or something.
